Care Farming/Farming for Health

Care farming is the therapeutic use of farming practices providing, health, social or educational care services for one or a range of groups of people through supervised and structured programs of farming related activity.

In other words a care farm essentially combines care of the land (including the environment and the animals) with the care of people.  Specifically it provides health, social or educational care services for one or a range of vulnerable groups of people, including those with mental health problems, people suffering from mild to moderate depression, adults and children with learning disabilities, children with autism, those with a drug or alcohol addiction history, disaffected young people, adults and people on probation.
